Summary

A large downstream company building a new multi-billion dollar facility wanted stronger control over data and document handover from multiple engineering contractors and vendors. They engaged ReVisionz to define clear requirements and enable auditing so deliverables could be verified throughout the project lifecycle rather than arriving as a final handover event.

ReVisionz developed governing information handover standards and contractor terms and conditions. We then performed progressive data quality audits of engineering contractor deliverables over the lifecycle of the project. This approach surfaced information quality issues earlier and gave project teams a clear basis to measure completeness, confirm compliance and support accountability to timelines.

Challenges

  • Information handover treated as a final project event rather than a progressive process.
  • Document-heavy deliverables that lacked usable operational information.
  • Inconsistent formats across EPCs and vendors.
  • Compliance gaps with naming, revisioning and metadata standards.
  • Contractor resistance to adopting client handover standards.

Solutions

  • Defined handover standards and contractor requirements across all EPCs.
  • Embedded compliance expectations into EPC and vendor contracts.
  • Performed progressive data quality audits throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enabled structured compliance checks against governing standards.
  • Established an audit and resolution model to support accountability.
